Save My Marriage

All marriages and close relationships go through difficult times.

Sometimes we just cannot see the forest for the trees to get through those difficult times. Sometimes we just don’t know what to do and we find it difficult to talk to our partner, family members or friends about the issue.

Marriage counselling is often short term including both partners and helps couples in all types of intimate relationships; heterosexual, homosexual, transgendered, married or not. Sometimes one partner chooses to work with a counsellor or therapist alone.

Couples may seek marriage counselling for a number of reasons, including but limited to:

  • Communication problems
  • Sexual difficulties
  • Conflicts about child rearing or blended families
  • Substance abuse
  • Financial problems
  • Anger
  • Infidelity
  • Divorce

Marriage counselling may also be helpful in cases of domestic abuse. If physical abuse or violence has escalated to the point that you’re afraid of your partner, counselling may not offer a total solution. If help from your family or friends is not available or possible, you may need to contact the police or a local crisis shelter for emergency support.

Marriage counselling can also help couples who plan to get married. This pre-marriage counselling can help couples achieve a deeper understanding of each other and iron out differences before marriage.

Some couples seek marriage counselling to strengthen their bonds and gain a better understanding of each other.

Sydney Counselling and Life Coaching can help with marriage counselling using various techniques and methodologies intended to bring awareness and focus to each partner in the relationship.
